Low mood, grief and life transitions
For the seasons that ask more of you than you have left to give.
This is for people feeling flat, low or grieving, or lost in a season of change, a relationship, a diagnosis, retirement, the slow loss of identity and purpose, or the weight of caring for everyone but yourself. It is also for those who worry intensely about their health, or avoid care out of fear. Counselling with me is a space to be understood as a whole person, not seen as a problem to be fixed. And because I am also a naturopath, I can see how the story and the body feed each other, the grief that settles in the gut, the low mood in a tired, under-nourished body.
You might recognise
- Feeling flat, low or numb, even when life “looks fine”
- Grief or loss that has settled into your body and your sleep
- A life transition, retirement, empty nest, a diagnosis, that has knocked your sense of who you are
- Carrying everyone else and quietly disappearing yourself
- Worrying about your health constantly, or avoiding the doctor out of fear
How the work looks
We go gently, paced to you. The first session is less about the details and more about building the kind of rapport that makes it easy to talk, and to trust that your story is safe with me. The work is led by counselling, a space to be heard, with naturopathic and lifestyle support woven in where the body is part of the picture. I will always be honest about what is within my scope, and if you need acute psychological or psychiatric care, I will help you find the right person. This works alongside your medical and mental health care, not instead of it.
"I am not looking to pathologise you, to see you as someone with a problem. I am looking to understand you as a whole."
